Carnival 
Director

A Carnival director is responsible for organizing, mobilizing and/or coordinating the staff, event participants, officials, and administrators for the successful execution of all carnival related events.

Education / Experience

MBO Degree or higher

  • Knowledge/experience Caribbean Carnivals

  • degree in any hospitality-related field (a plus)

  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in event management/planning and/or director roll

Language Requirements

  • Proper command of Dutch and English (Written and Speaking)

  • Other languages are a plus

Tasks

  • Monitors the progress of the planning and execution of each task that has to do with the event.

  • Serves as a link between the event and external bodies

  • Provides recruitment and training/coaching for the organizing committee for the purpose of an event. 

  • Development of general event management policies.

  • Supervision of the production process of an event.

  • Make sure that staff and work personnel at the event adhere to the management policies that were put in place to minimize hiccups during the course of the event.

  • Lead and motivate a team 

  • Work with the sponsorship department to adjust cost estimates.

  • Attend carnival board meetings

  • Must have a flexible schedule to travel

  • Product research

  • Create a Schedule of to-do’s before and after carnival events
