At Small Island Unity (SIU), our mission has always been to bridge the gap between our vibrant Caribbean islands and the diaspora residing in the Netherlands and across Europe. We believe that true cultural preservation and growth happen when we are at the table, actively shaping the future. That is why we are incredibly excited to announce an upcoming, high-level Meet & Greet with the Government of St. Eustatius (Statia) on October 2nd, 2026.
As we look toward major upcoming milestones—including the historic Statia 250th—maintaining a strong, open dialogue with the island's leadership is more critical than ever. This exclusive session is rooted in our core foundation principle: "Working With, Not For." It is an opportunity to align our cultural strategies, discuss how we can better support Statian students and professionals abroad, and ensure that the voice of the diaspora remains an integral part of the island's ongoing development.
This Meet & Greet represents a powerful step forward in fostering unity, collaboration, and mutual respect between the government and the community abroad. It ensures that whether we are organizing large-scale carnival activations or providing community support, we are doing so with a unified vision.
